Manzanitas translate to “little apples,” even though are bananas. The name derives from their faintly reminiscent apple taste. They are small, delicate, sweet and wonderfully delicious. I have two banana apple shoots slowly growing in my yard. Come next year, I should have my very own supply of this tasty fruit.
